本设计打破传统菜市场嘈杂、拥挤、脏乱差的固有印象，重新定义这个最具人间烟火气息的建筑。9000平方米菜市场的布置是整个规划设计的核心，直接影响整个地块的规划布局，综合人流与车流来向证实街角是菜市场布置的最佳位置，两层布局的菜市场将整个地块彻底打断，失去连续性，同时一层布局的菜市场流线简单、方便高效；综合分析设计将9000平方菜市场作为一层布局但在中部断开形成广场，既作为菜市场的形象主入口，又可给城市提供公共活动场地，依靠超大规模的屋面系统，给城市打造一个空中绿洲。
